The Pop Pickers are looking to recruit an experienced Bass Player / Vocalist for our popular busy south coast band. We play classic hits from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Start will be as soon as possible, subject to audition and rehearsals.

 

The Pop Pickers

The Pop Pickers were established in 2016, and to date, have played more than 570 gigs. The band play classic hits from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and are fully booked for the remainder of 2025. We cover a geographical area from Bournemouth/Poole to the west, Bognor Regis to the east and Aldershot/Farnham to the North. We have also played gigs in London, Bristol, and Swanage on selected occasions. The band mainly play clubs and private functions, including weddings and corporate work. The band is extremely busy and play approximately 70/80 gigs per year, mainly on Saturdays. Friday and Sunday gigs are also quite common. Over the years we have established an excellent following and have a strong social media presence on our website, YouTube channel and Facebook.

 

The Bass Player / Vocalist Candidate

The Pop Pickers are looking for a mature experienced candidate who can fulfil the following criteria:

  • Experienced bass player who has performed consistently in a band.
  • Comfortable with playing ballads, pop, rock, and rock and roll. A setlist can be found on the band’s website.
  • Excellent knowledge of 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s music.
  • Ability to sing backing vocals/harmonies. Lead singing would be a distinct advantage.
  • Has own transport and high quality equipment. PA system will be provided.
  • Fully committed, easy going, enthusiastic, professional, and reliable team player, with good punctuality.
  • Able to contribute to the band’s progress with new ideas and input to shape direction.
  • Attend regular rehearsals in the Fareham area, as and when required. Rehearsals are usually during the day, but can be evenings if necessary.
  • Contribute to the band’s recording projects and social media as and when required.
